About Ikke&Zo

Welcome to the Ikke&Zo childcare centre. We hope to give you a good impression of our childcare via our website. At our childcare centre, ‘being a child’ is central. If you have any questions, you can always drop by or call. You are also very welcome to make an appointment to take a look at our childcare centre.

The Childcare centre

The childcare centre consists of two floors. The spacious baby groups are on the ground floor, so that the babies can easily go outside. Each baby group has an adjoining bedroom. The toddlers and the after-school care are located on the first floor, where the toddlers can wave goodbye to their parents on the quay from a real castle. The bedroom of the toddler groups is on the ground floor. The after-school care has a spacious room with a separate room next to it to chill out. They can look out over the quay from a mezzanine.

The location

The childcare centre Ikke&Zo is located in the middle of the "Westerpark" district and is housed in a former school building at De Wittenkade 75. This is a quiet quay with plenty of parking space, close to arterial roads to the highway. The children's center can be reached by bike within ten minutes from the central station. In addition, Ikke&Zo is close to the center and the Jordaan.

The building

This building from the early 1900s was the former school No. 4 of the Association for Primary Education on Reformed Principles. It is the current building where Ikke&Zo is located.

It is an attractive building with a large entrance, spacious rooms and high double-glazed windows that allow plenty of light into the building and the rooms.

The classrooms are furnished according to the Ikke&Zo concept, which means fresh colours, spaciousness and natural elements. In the summer of 2013, the classrooms were renovated to make them even more spacious and fresh.

The garden

The garden is a special part of childcare centre Ikke&Zo. We think it is important that children spend a lot of time outside, in good and bad weather. This is possible in our lovely, large, enclosed garden at the back of the building, which more than meets the legal standards for outdoor space. The garden is also designed according to the Ikke&Zo concept. For the little ones there is a spacious, screened crawl and play area in the shade. For toddlers there is more than enough space to get rid of their energy, for example by cycling, playing with balls, sliding, climbing and playing. We also have a nice sandbox for baking shortbread cookies. The garden is where the elements of nature come back and the children can fully enjoy themselves with sand and water, but also simply discover nature.
