Daycare
The childcare centre is located in the middle of the Westerpark district and is housed in a former school building at De Wittenkade 75. It is an atmospheric building with large classrooms. It is also a sustainable building with double and safety glass windows. The classrooms look fresh and light with many natural elements.
The childcare centre consists of two floors. The spacious baby groups are on the ground floor, so that the babies can easily go outside. Each baby group has an adjoining bedroom. The toddlers and the after-school care are located on the first floor, where the toddlers can wave goodbye to their parents on the quay from a real castle. The bedroom of the toddler groups is on the ground floor. The after-school care has a spacious room with a separate room next to it to chill out. They can look out over the quay from a mezzanine.
Ikke&Zo childcare centre is open 52 weeks a year. On weekdays we are open from 7:30 to 18:00. On national holidays we are closed.
Pedagogical work plan for the Ikke&Zo childcare centre
A place to develop
Childcare is more than just providing shelter and a meal. As a parent, you should be able to trust that the childcare centre offers more. As we at Ikke&Zo envision, every child should be able to develop their talents and every child is unique in their life. As a child, you should be able to learn, share, interact with other people, learn to respect norms and values, make friends and learn what your boundaries are.
The vision of the Ikke&Zo childcare centre
Childcare centre Ikke&Zo has a clear vision of the conditions that a childcare centre must meet to enable a healthy development of a child. Due to the great experience and competence at Ikke&Zo, we only select pedagogical employees who can meet these conditions. In addition, the pedagogical employees are also stimulated and guided to implement our vision in practice. We as childcare centre Ikke&Zo will also talk to the parents, stimulate them to discuss this vision and ensure that it is guaranteed.
Individual and environment
For the development of the child, in addition to the individual disposition, the environment is also important. The interaction between the pedagogical employee and the parent(s) is decisive in this. Children have to deal with both environments, both that of their own family and that of the childcare centre.
The role of the educational staff member
The educational staff member therefore also plays a very important role in the life of the child. This role must be such that the children can also develop well during the care and that they feel safe in their group and environment. This requires a pleasant and safe environment for the child. Kindercentrum Ikke&Zo therefore makes an effort to create an atmosphere for “their” children that feels safe and that gives the children confidence in their lives. As a educational staff member you give the child the feeling that he/she feels at home, is respected and can be himself/herself. The educational staff member guides, supports and stimulates the children in their individual, age-specific development. This involves giving the children the opportunity to grow into independent people, who have self-confidence and appreciation and are socially skilled.
